Wowza

The coolest collab in the history of highstreet x designer collabs:

Big announcement on the business wire this morning. "Comme des Garçons’ founder and head designer Rei Kawakubo will create this autumn’s guest designer collection at H&M... Rei Kawakubo, famous and admired for her creativity and artistry, will design a women’s and a men’s collection, with some pieces for children too. Accessories and an exclusive unisex fragrance will also be included in the collection...
The world launch of the collection will be at the opening of H&M’s second store in Tokyo, Japan, in the beginning of November. Launch date for other H&M markets will be a few days later."

i'm excited, but i wonder hw it will turn out.
because cdg is absolutely fantastic and incomparable, but will h&m dilute rei's fantastical creations ?
i hope not.

i'm thinking it will be an awesome way for younger kids to get into cdg. die hard fans might buy a piece or two just as a souvenir-type thing but for the younger ones who cant afford the real stuff yet, this collab will be a really good thing even if it does turn out a bit bland

can't wait to see what turns out on this collaboration. i must admit the new really surprised me, i would never ever thought rei collaborating with someone as H&M. Intriguing indeed.

bobble bee: i agree, being able to get cdg for cheap might be nice, but what is so awesome is the idea that rei is cool with h&m!
