chloe sevigny's home...unexpected to say the least but there's chloe for ya
via house & garden
I've been contemplating this picture of Chloe Sevigny and the idea of doing full on fur this winter (instead of say, a fur trim or fur lapel) but I'm torn between Chloe's glam kind of fox fur, and something more retro chic like a caramel mink coat. I have a feeling silver fox would work well with the kind of monotone garments I own, (particularly my new grey bernhard willhelm anorak!) but then again, it wouldn't hurt to look like Margot Tenenbaum either. Hmm decisions, decisions.

Even if a collection doesn't appeal to my tastes it's always interesting to try to speculate what may have inspired a designer.
18th century British painter Joseph Mallord Turner's ethreal landscape paintings for Basso & Brooke?
German Renaissance painter Hans Holbein's infamous "Christina of Denmark" for Peter Jensen?
17th century Flemish painter Anthony Van Dyck's portraits for Louis Vuitton?
In other news, I have mixed feelings about ss08 so far. I think I'll comment once I've seen everything and decided what I do and don't like.

I know this idea of pairing metallics with coarser materials like wool and thick knits isn't something new but Toga has got that balance between techy and wintry bang on in my opinion.

Liking Shu Uemura's fall mode collection Edo Komon and the idea of wearing kimono colors on the face. And these would be so great for halloween.
